I enjoyed this.
It features down on her luck Ella who is made redundant. Good job too really because her boss is her ex who is now seeing the office receptionist. It doesn’t sound like a healthy place for her to work. She feels that her family see her as a hot mess as her mother and best friend gang up on her and send her to an island wellness retreat.
Needless to say she appears to be a bit of a mess when she arrives – accident prone and calamities seem to beset her constantly. She needs to be rescued form the sea by Riley the hot yoga instructor. Not the impression Ella was looking to make.
Needless to say the retreat works magic with her confidence and self esteem. She realises that she is worth something and that her family do not look down on her – it is only herself that holds such a low opinion. She also gets together with the hot yoga instructor.
As it is fiction, all of this happens in the 3 week retreat, but by the end of the book Riley is promoted and Ella employed there!
It is a great book to provide cheery feelings. There are comical moments to match cheeriness making it a feel good read.
