This was certainly an interesting story. As can be expected when there are 2 people that the reader follows – it starts by telling their unique stories. While I have certainly read books before that had a similar theme to Ariana’s story – pop star injured in a crash when her friends were killed, retreats to live alone as she feels that she is too ugly for the world to cope with – I do not think I have ever read anything comparable to the story of Lee ( and I’m not going to tell you what that story is).
When the 2 women meet and start to live alongside each other they begin to heal through their interactions. There’s some moral learning in there too, teaching Thomas, the delivery boy, a lesson about kindness and acceptance.
This book was enjoyable. I’m not sure about the timescale for the healing – but I’m not a medic.
It certainly shows how we need people in our lives to be able to live our best life, and that found family can be the best.
