The Rainbow Lens by Katherine Blakeman

Another excellent book from The Katherine Blakeman.
I am not at all sure how she does it but she’s completely stepped away from the Bound by the Rainbow series and reinvented herself!
In my mind Katherine is in her 20s (she may not be). How does she write women in their 50s so well?!

I thoroughly enjoyed this second chance romance. Inspired by a holiday in Italy this story will draw you in, make you smile, wonder at the audacity of some people, all while showing you that the best way to live life is to be kind and let people be happy.

As always, she made me think. Where else can you see words such as pulchritudinous, pusillanimous, petrichor, quotidian, moue and I had never heard of a trikini!

She also made me think about the words that we use when we lash out at those who have hurt us. It may be gone in a moment from our mouths – but it will stay forever in their ears and heart.

So yes, I recommend this. Go and read Lydia and Gilly’s story and then maybe enter a few competitions. You never know, you could win more than a holiday.
