This is a debut novel. It is very well written. It holds the attention.
This is an ice queen celebrity who employs a PA, they fall in love and their world disintegrates due to a lack of communication, deliberate interference from ill intentioned people and their own baggage. Of course they reconcile before the end because you need a Happy Ever After. If this sounds familiar, well it’s a tried and trusted trope – you will be hard pressed to find another as well written. The emotions practically drip off the page as you read.
The attraction between them is instant and we get to experience it all. The story is told from both of their points of view – there is a lot of internal monologue so we the reader know what is happening. The POV changes mid chapter – which keeps the pace up and the reader interested. You get an instant reaction to something. This momentarily confused me, as I admit I was not paying attention. My wife will insist on trying to talk to me while I’m reading. As soon as I realised it did that, no problem at all.
I don’t want to bang on about it, but it is really good.
