Emma by Melissa Tereze

This is Book 4. Book 1 was sublime, Book 2 introduced them to Mistress, Book 3 dealt with the possibility of cancer and mastectomy so what could Book 4 do that hadn’t been done already?

Well.

Book 4 is Emma’s story. And BAM! You know something has to be happening to them as why else would there be a book. But when it does it’s completely unexpected.

Well. Without telling you what it is all about – because you need to go and find out for yourself – here we go.

As it’s December – it’s quite a seasonal story.
At first I thought we might be heading into an allegation story – I was mighty pleased that I was wrong.
The importance of chosen family to someone who didn’t consider themselves to have a family.
Actually accurate and positive portrayal of social work in a book – and this from someone who quite often shouts at the TV portrayal* (Yes, Eastenders, I’m looking at you here).**
I had never imagined Special Guardianship Orders being a feature in a 5 Star Steamy Sapphic Romance Novel. But there you go!

**I would like to make it clear here that I only watch Eastenders because my wife makes me.
* I am outing myself as a former social worker here. Please keep your opinions about this to yourself thank you.
