I won this book for telling the world about a terrible present I was once given for Christmas.*
Of course I have read it and am going to tell the world about it as well.
It’s a great book. Dak is a FBI agent who investigates cold cases. She is then seconded to an ongoing serial killer case. She lives next door to a couple and they look out for each other.
Their daughter, CJ, is a mortician with her own TV show. Her show is cancelled so she heads home for a bit.
Aside from solving the murders – and of course CJ becomes involved in the case – they both find something in each other that they had not realised they were looking for. There’s also some stabbing/shooting/kidnap action.
Now I don’t know of there’s a protocol about talking about people who write different genres under more than one pen name ( let me know if there is), but that is such a skill to have. Being able to just think, today I will write a police procedural, or a fluffy romance, or an anything! Amazing.
* It was a washing up bowl with brush, sponge and tea towel for my ‘bottom drawer’.
