Wade, Erin – Living Two Lives

This book was quite enjoyable.
It made me laugh – when the doorbell rings at The Manse – a large, opulent house, it is ‘Money Money Money, it’s a rich man’s world’. And of course there is plenty of romance.
The story centres on the murder of ‘nana’ and what happens afterwards.
I was unclear if this counted as a murder mystery – was it a cosy mystery because the police although involved were not the force behind solving the crimes and it definitely did not fit into a police procedural. Would I think this was a fantasy murder if the story was peopled by straight beautiful people? Who knows. I think the last time I read one of those was when they were passed around the classroom with the pages of the sex scenes turned down.

The villain had to be someone that was in play or it wouldn’t be fair to the reader. So someone was not who they appeared to be. At one point I thought it might actually be Nana! She clearly had multiple identities – I almost expected her to pull off a latex mask to reveal herself.
