Sommers, Rachael – Chemistry

This was a delightful sort of enemies to lovers story set in a school featuring 2 science teachers. Lily teaches chemistry and Eva teaches physics. Lily is portrayed as a lovely, helpful, happy soul whilst Eva stalks the corridors putting fear into both students and staff alike. And she has no wish to be friends with Lily.
Lily doesn’t give up trying to be nice to her. She sees that Eva actually has some good relationships with pupils and goes out of her way to help them with things.
Eva and Lily using pseudonyms meet on a dating app and chat. They get on well. They obviously do not know who they are talking to.
They also begin to get on in real life.
They both chaperone the winter formal and end up having sex on the balcony. Now that kind of behaviour gets you on all kinds of lists – none of which allow you to teach or be anywhere near children.
They then do a very on and off type of non relationship before ending up happily ever after.

There is of course an epilogue – they go back to school shopping and bump into a teacher who then accuses Lily of being in love with Eva. Of course she is. We’ve known that for quite a while.
But there is no wedding or children in sight so it’s all good.
