I enjoyed this book.
I didn’t read the blurb before so I wasn’t sure what to expect other than it involved the shooting of a film.
A film director who didn’t want to take the job but had an unexpected tax bill. Looking at the film it was not going to be easy job as it looked awful, was called ‘Shezan – Mistress of the Forest’, and the lead was there purely because of connections.
It was shot in New Zealand though so was gong to look pretty. The director had a literal run in with the local cop on arrival in town.
Someone was not happy with the filming as there were a number of inconvenient and potentially costly sabotage acts. The investigating cop is now the directors love interest.
There was plenty going on, – and things to think about while reading this.
Of course the terrible film was turned into something special and everything came right in the end.
If nothing else this story told the tale that you can rely on family, friends and community to get by in life and that it is who you know in life that gets you on in life.
