This book is excellent.
It tells the story of Cordelia Wainwright. She is an actress that is being interviewed – and then we relive her life with her as she tells the story. We see her in relation to her relationship with Aubrey ( her very long suffering girlfriend), Beatrice (her mother), Ophelia ( who is 10 at the start of the book) and Cordelia herself.
It is quite dark in places, it makes you hold your breath because you are anticipating the next thing to happen. I was waiting for it all to fall apart. It is absolutely brilliant, and as the story comes in 4 parts they all mesh together to make one coherent narrative.

There is another book in the wings – a sequel.
I literally cannot wait!
