Markinson, TB & McLeod, Miranda A Dare to Remember

I quite enjoyed this second chance romance / enemy to lover story.
While in high school Clara and Lucy lived next door to each other (when Lucy moved in with her grandparents after the death of her parents). During a game of Truth or Dare they ended up in a cupboard and kissed.
Now 15 years later Clara has returned home to the family inn to find it shut and in disrepair. Lucy has been employed to fix it up to sell. Clara is upset with this – she didn’t know it was closed, she doesn’t want to lose it, and she thinks Lucy is not to be trusted and will scam them.
As you can tell from that – they are going to fall head over heels in love and live happy ever after.

I have noticed there are an increasing number of characters in books that are employed as event organisers/party planners. And yet I don’t know a single one in real life.
This is also a sort of holiday Christmas book. There’s plenty of seasonal cheer, snow, and it is Christmas for a day in the story.
There are also weddings – as they have turned the inn and Christmas tree farm into a lucrative business which they now work together doing.

Mind you – I wouldn’t mind living near a Christmas tree farm – I quite like the smell.
