Well. This really is giving a whole story to a relatively minor character from a previous book.
I caught myself saying ‘ Oh, you’re THAT Lauren!?’ a few minutes before Mia did. Which then made me laugh when she said it. I could have done without the dead sibling in the urn – but that was a major plot point as the reason behind the midnight flit with all the cash.
I enjoyed the fandom and the unassuming character that Lauren was written in. And how she can write a book on her phone I don’t know. But needs must I guess.
The relationship between Lauren and Mia was sweet – both thinking that they had nothing to offer the other and determined to support each other in dating and finding someone. When of course their true love was staring them in the face. Even if at one point they had been the ‘thief and the lawyer’.
And of course all of the other characters from the series are present here and the Dragonfly bar is centre stage again.
Read the series – you will not be disappointed.
