Love in the Time of Corona by Elena Graf

This is book 3 in the series.

As you can tell from the title this is set in the pandemic. I have not really chosen to relive the pandemic in literature so far, but I wasn’t going to let it put me off the series as I was already invested in the characters. I am sure this took a lot of research to make sure it was accurately remembered and technically/medically correct.
It was interesting though to read of it through the perspective of another country – as I am only properly familiar with it in the UK.
This story made me laugh as it compared a police character with Sarah Lancashire’s Sergeant Cawood from Happy Valley. It was a very quick and easy way for me to have an idea in my head of the physical appearance of the character that the author was trying to convey.
This book centres on Cherie and Brenda (the police chief that looked like Sergeant Cawood).
Their story of course was not straight forward but was an excellent vehicle for the discussion of police brutality and racism and the Black Lives Matter movement.
Recommended.
