This is a sort of fake dating, age gap, story that was a fun read.
It shows how even the most confident people can struggle coming out and thinking they don’t meet their parental expectations of them. Yet when the parent is told they are quite accepting and loving. And yes, we all know that doesn’t always happen in real life even though it should. But this is a story.
The cast for this story is quite large – with extended family all over the place but easy to keep tabs on everyone and remember who is who.
And when you are having issues with your own mother, why not hook up with your best friend’s mum?

The line that made me laugh the most is predictably ‘ And then you sort of fell into her knickers?’

There is an epilogue – this brings together the issues with the 2 families and creates the happy ever after.
