I love this couple – Margaret and Bess.
The book starts with them in Tasmania on holiday touring a women’s penitentiary. Margaret is very pale and always dresses in black. Bess had to explain to others on their tour that Margaret was not part of the tour, she wasn’t an exhibit and she would not be having her photo taken with them.
While in Tasmania an old friend/acquaintance of Margaret’s make contact asking for some help in valuing her grandmother’s antiques. This kicks off their involvement in the death of the grandmother and all of the various shenanigans that surrounds it.
At times it tests their relationship but as always they not only solve the murder, but also bring to light several crimes that nobody had noticed.
It sees them battling through grief, jealousy, being taken prisoner, thrown out of a small town, and more!
There isn’t an epilogue – they are not needed in series I think – the next book provides the updates.
I am looking forward to the next one!
