This book held my interest from beginning to end. I read it straight through.
Now I have no interest in baking, cooking shows and I only know where the kitchen is because it’s where I feed the dog. This book is full of chefs, bakers, kitchens, restaurants and cooking programmes. I had to look up some of the cooking terms used as I was not familiar with them.
Regan and Ava have both won a place on a prestigious baking retreat with a famous chef. They have history – but not the type of history you might expect.
It almost feels as though you are there taking part in the retreat yourself!
It’s sort of a slow burn but not, also it’s a second chance, a enemies to lovers, a forced proximity with more than one bed.
And when things start to go wrong – who is actually to blame?
And of course there’s an epilogue. Which I think is always a good idea. We of course want to know what happens after the retreat – how they go forward to make their mark in the culinary world.
This was the book I didn’t know I wanted to read – but I might have to go and see what else is in the kitchen apart from dog food and alcohol.
