I very much enjoyed this book.
This is a second chance romance when Summer returning back to Texas bumps into Aiko, who was her high school crush.
The problem is that the school that Summer’s grandmother started is now derelict and is being demolished to make way for a new building. Summer sees this as her grandmother’s educational legacy being thrown away and Aiko is an architect and working on the project.
They clash over this and can’t seem to find a way forward.
They are also dealing with their various parents at the same time – aging parents can be hard work especially if one of them has not spoken to you since you came out to them. More drama!
They struggle to maintain their blossoming relationship when they are so conflicted over the building.
However, as with all romance novels, love will win in the end.
There’s an epilogue set 7 months later.
The new building is being opened and there’s more to come in their love story as the building is put into use.
I very much enjoyed this and would recommend it.
