This is a lovely book featuring a second chance romance including neurodivergence (ADHD) and chronic illness (type 1 diabetes). Add in some good old homophobia, religious shaming and the general nastiness of disowning family and you would think that might be enough to form the basis of a story.
But you then have to add in rejection when a relationship ends, added to seeing your ex-fiancé get engaged to the boss and they ask you to plan their wedding.
Some people have a bloody cheek – although they did seem to have plenty of money to throw around.
It was never going to be an easy time for the characters.
I forgot there is also fake dating your first love who has become your room mate and the photographer for the wedding.
Mix it all up and see what pops out at the end.
One thing that stands out as a good thing is how sexy stretch marks and a lived in body can be.
There is no epilogue as such but the story does jump 3 months – so in my book that is an epilogue.
It ties things up nicely.
