I enjoyed this.
I’ll admit I was a little confused for the first 3 minutes, but then it was full steam ahead.
This story is centred around childhood friends Layla and Dizzy – Leyla used to race power boats on the lake. After a crash, they hadn’t seen each other for years.
There’s a lot of flashbacks to their childhoods and friendship – and the perspectives of Maria and Eliza to take into account, which means we can put the pieces together as we read it.
I have not seen or heard ‘gadzooks’ being used since Rent a Ghost. Quite fitting really.
I might live on the coast but I have very little idea about boats but there was no technical or specialist knowledge required to understand them.
There is of course an epilogue set 12 months later.
All of the characters have moved on with their lives.
Maria and Eliza are then able to move on to supervise another prospective romance (I assume).
So, this is a second chance romance supervised by a pair of ghosts.
