I listen to books while driving and this one seemed a lot quicker than some of the others I have heard. That said I do listen on 1.4x speed – so I am fairly sure I would not recognise the voice of the woman who read it.
The story is set around a small town community and features a family feud. When the source of much discontent and bad feeling dies, his estranged daughter Sierra comes to town for the funeral and to catch up with her brother. Not having been home for 15 years since a falling out with her dad she has no idea her family are not welcome.
Lucy blames Sierra’s family for the death of her own father. She is not about to make the family welcome and her first meeting with Sierra shows her throwing her out of her family Inn stating she was not welcome there.
Needless to say over time things change.
