Pyland, Nicole – Future Wife

Now this book was intriguing. I am not normally interested in sci fi type stuff but I liked this.
Carter is met by a woman from the future who tells her that she is her wife from the future and she needs to make sure that has a relationship with her – something is obviously happening in the future that makes her unsure about it.
She makes a machine that can time travel and on her return suffers from some physical health issues as she has been away for longer in her time travel than time passed in her original time line. Major dehydration etc.
I particularly liked the idea that the time traveller (a physicist) was able to go to the same place and time on multiple occasions and could see herself (I do realise this is a story and not real btw).
It was interesting that there was something in her family history that she wanted to change – and she tried on a number of occasions to do so – each time making a change but the outcome was not the one she wanted. Her girlfriend jumped on board on the last visit – and managed to get herself shot by the Nazis. Imagine turning up to modern day hospital with an 80 year old bullet in you! How do you explain that?

Anyway. This story had a good pace, intrigue and tension. And a love story happened too.
