
This is one of those fake romances that turns into an actual romance. And it’s a celebrity as part of the fake dating too.
Having said that I enjoyed it.
Yes, it’s fairly predictable and cheesy – but people write books that conform to a trope as that is what people like to read. There’s also actual funny humour in it too, which made me laugh.
And when you call a character Cagney I spend the rest of the book waiting for Lacey to pop up somewhere.
There is a wedding involved ( the reason Carrie needs a fake date) and nearly a fake wedding of their own to avoid wasting all of the hard work that goes into a wedding (I think that it not really a good enough reason for getting married).
There is an epilogue that may also involve another wedding but who knows until you read it.
I enjoyed this – I read it just after I had got married so had empathy with the poor people arranging the wedding.
